Chain Care and Maintenance

There are many types of chains and different types of chains have different characteristics.
Chain care and maintenance
In the process of use, the chain will have some problems, such as:
1, Chain wear, aging, deformation or twisting.
2、Insufficient tension of the chain.
3、The tension of the chain is determined by the tooth shape.
4、Wear of the chain will affect its transmission accuracy and life, when the wear is serious it will cause the chain to fall off.
5、When working in humid or dusty environment, the chain will be rusty, which will affect its service life.
6、If you are using metal chain, you should check whether there is any loosening phenomenon frequently.
7、When working under heavy load, there will be slipping phenomenon, which will cause chain wear.
8, in the cleaning work, if there is no special tool, do not touch the chain and teeth with your hands to prevent damage.
9、When disassembling or installing, be careful not to exert too much force to prevent damage to the surface of the parts.
10, in the disassembly or installation, to clean each part, and mark, to prevent the next error.
11, to regularly check whether each connection part is tight and reliable, otherwise it will make the chain loose or broken.
12, in the replacement of new parts, pay attention to the installation to the appropriate location, if installed wrong will lead to transmission problems such as smooth.
13、If you need to replace the new parts, check whether the parts are damaged or defective.
14. Pay attention to avoid collision or extrusion of the chain during transportation and storage.
1.Correctly choose the type of chain
There are many types of chains and different types of chains have different characteristics. When choosing the type of chain, factors such as transmission direction, movement speed, bearing capacity, load and so on should be taken into consideration and the suitable type of chain should be chosen according to the actual situation. If the chain is used for heavy or high load, it should be chosen with high rigidity and strength. If it is used for high speed movement, it should be chosen with good lubrication performance, oil resistance and wear resistance.
2. Adjust the chain according to the requirements
In the process of using chain, if you find that the chain can't run normally, first of all, you should check whether the chain is loose or not, then you have to adjust the chain. Usually, the adjustment method is to install the sprocket or main wheel on the mounting bracket, and then tighten the nut of the chain with a wrench. When the chain moves and resistance can be felt it means that the adjustment is complete. If the chain is too tight or too loose, the transmission accuracy will be affected. Adjustment should also be made when the sprocket or the main wheel slips. Usually, if the main wheel or sprocket wheel slips, it can be taken down for adjustment.
3.Correct installation and dismantling of chain
(1)Before installation, the chain must be put in a clean position, then put the chain on the chain stand, fasten the sprocket and the ends of the chain, and lock them.
(2)When it is necessary to dismantle, you must start from the new position and finish with the old one.
(3)Do not subject the chain to strong shocks, as this may result in severe twisting or breaking.
(4) If a new chain is to be replaced, the old one must be removed first.
(5)Make sure there are no foreign objects on the newly installed chain first.
(6) When installing a new chain, make sure that the two sprockets are aligned and locked tightly, and then align the chain. If you are not sure if it is locked, you can put the chain on the chain holder first and then push it by hand a few times.
(7) Keep enough clearance between the two sprockets and the chain, which can reduce noise and vibration.
4. When maintaining, pay attention to the following points
1)The tension of the chain should be suitable, but not too tight, otherwise it will lead to wear and reduce the life.
2)Be careful to avoid collision between the chain and chain, sprocket and other parts when working, otherwise it will cause damage.
3)The chain should be inspected regularly, and if wear is found, it should be replaced in time.
4)When replacing the new chain, be careful not to touch the sprocket and other parts.
5)If it is working in harsh environment, be careful to wash the chain and apply grease or lubricating grease.
6)If you are working under heavy load, be careful not to make the chain too loose or too tight during operation, which will lead to deformation and damage of the chain.
7)If the chain is slack or bent, it can be stretched or relaxed appropriately, but it should not be overly slack.
5.Lubrication of sprockets, bushings and bearings
In use, if it is necessary to work continuously, appropriate amount of lubricating oil should be added to the sprocket, bushing and bearing. Otherwise, it will cause the part
